Shabby-Chic Crazy Panel. Bird n Bunny. Cont.

Stage 2.
After tacking the pieces in place, the fun begins.
Embroidery on all the edges. In this type of
stitching the edges are left raw, which adds tiny detail to the overall "look"

For the embroidery stitches Ive picked up on the colours in the embroideries to give the piece a cohesive look.

The next stage is the beading followed by the final embellishments.
BUT it may be awhile till I get those stages done. So join as a follower so you dont miss out on the continuing saga of the Birdie and Bunny :).

But wait, there's more.
As you know I hardly ever work one piece at a time.
So as the Bunny n bird chatter away there is a
"Pouting Princess"
sorting out her new home.

Looks like a hard lady to please. ;)

Woohoo for Shabby -chic Collage

Shabby-Chic Crazy Panel.Bird n Bunny

A new project and Ive taken lots of photos so you can see
the way I put a panel together.

This old tray cloth, in linen, has been in my stash for awhile now
and has discolouration in places.
Normally I would cut the embroidered bits off, but because of the way the embroidery is placed, I thought it would be perfect to use as a background.
Sooo away we go.

This little bunny isn't hand done, but is sooooo cute I had to keep him :)

So as you can see. Lots of layers with different textures. The roses from the original tray cloth are still showing. And the little birdie flits by to say hello :)..

Happy shabby-chic-ing

Unorganised Thread Piece. Long term project

I always have a small piece beside my chair that gets stitched with the lengths of thread that you always end up with when stitching an organised piece.

Even if its only long enough for a couple of stitches, it gets used.

nothing gets wasted.

Normally I make up a hotch-potch fabric collage then just stitch. No planning, no end result in mind, just to see what happens.

Weeell, this one is 3 flowers from my stash and, I never noticed till I photographed it that, Theres a little doggy shape there.

Can you see that sad little face?

Will this influence my stitching? It probably will, shape wise I'm sure.

These odd pieces take ages to do so I will just have to see how it evolves.

Happy Scrappy stitching.

Tattoos for Inspiration

I found this while browsing thru my endless files
of Inspiration.
I dont know where I found it.I forgot to record the source.
But other than as tattoos they would make wonderful embroidery designs. Satin Stitch maybe Or just an outline stitch.
Nothing Airy fairy about these.
Would be a great design for the man in your life.
So if anyone knows who the artist is, please let me know so I can give credit.
Has anyone else used Tattoos as an Inspiration Source?
