Chain Stitch Overload.

Tattoos for Inspiration

I found this while browsing thru my endless files
of Inspiration.
I dont know where I found it.I forgot to record the source.
But other than as tattoos they would make wonderful embroidery designs. Satin Stitch maybe Or just an outline stitch.
Nothing Airy fairy about these.
Would be a great design for the man in your life.
So if anyone knows who the artist is, please let me know so I can give credit.
Has anyone else used Tattoos as an Inspiration Source?

Up close and Personal. Photos for inspiration.

In my last post I mentioned the Lichens.
In fact while out and about on our walks,
I take heaps n heaps of photos of
bark n lichens n rocks n leaves.
Oh and rusty objects.

I have an idea mulling away in the background
Of, Taking a few of my fav photos and transfering them to fabric
then embellishing.
Still in the thinking stage.
Other textile artists seem to find the same subject matter
interesting as well.
Do You?
I think, the attraction is to do with the spontaniety of
 the patterns that nature creates.
And then working with that.

Colour And Texture.

A few more of my little purses.
The texture is quite clear to see on these.
I also love the texture of the lichen
that they are posing on.

More Rust Cloth

Playing with the rusty metal and the images they create on fabric is very appealing.
My first piece was just a taster. I'm now really really into it.
These are photos of the first one plus 2 others I have since done.
The rust colour is alot more intense than what shows up on here.
I have them folded up on the end of my work table so I can just admire them and wait for an inspiration on how to use them.
But, who says we actually have to "do" something with them. :)

Another Crazy Block Finished

A few posts ago, this block featured. It is now beaded and into the finished block pile. :)
This is definitely a long term project.
Many many distractions along the way.
Roses embroideries done back in the 80's.
I bet I'm not the only one to take forever on some projects. ;)
