Crazy Quilt, Jewel Tones with Roses

Open to Full screen to make the most of the details.
The Roses were embroidered in the late 1980's by me and finally
 used in
this over the top Crazy Quilt.

I hope you enjoy my little video.

Happy Stitching

Finally!!
Approx 15 months of stand-by stitching.

The last few inches :)

The colours don't show up as well here. That
yellow is a lovely bright Canary yellow/gold.

Then
3 stitches to go

2 ........

1.......

Ta Dah!!! Much hand-clapping. he he

The final third is done.

The largest Needlepoint I have attempted to date

And here it is.
Off the frame and relaxing on the floor.
The DVD cover is to give an idea of scale.

These are the statistics.
My own Design.
23" x 42"
#10 canvas
DMC Wool
185 skeins

and if my maths is right, then this is
97,520 stitches.
Crikey!... Blimey!, did I really do that many.??

Far too Much Stitching ;)

Crazy Quilted, Shabby Collage Treasure Book

A couple of weeks back was my Mothers 80th
Birthday and in honour of the event I created her a Treasure book.
With family photos printed on silk, pockets for adding extra photos and open areas for treasures to be added.
Ribbons that can be used to tie objects on.

The lining of the covers is using  left-over fabric from her wedding dress.

Jewellery that belonged to her Mother and grandmother is added
as a perfect place to keep it.

Mum can add more photos of the day as she wishes.:)
I covered a large box with music and put a pony picture in the base, wrapped the book in more of the wedding fabric and tied all with a big bow.

And the covers opened out

And the side and end shots.

I've used up heaps of vintage lace, baubles, beads, jewellery,
vintage embroideries and also some stitched by me.
Has taken approx. a year to gather and complete.
Needless to say, I don't think I will attempt a project of this size again ..lol

Had a marvellous time stitching,
